The first episode of this show will be a very interesting one. The show will start out with and argument between Biff and Willy regarding Biff's career choices. Willy wants Biff to get a job as a salesman with him, but Biff refuses because he wants to leave home. In distress, Willy rushes out of the house and gets into another car accident. Instead of just brushing it off, he takes the initiative and sees a psychologist. This psychologist, Olivia, will begin to talk about feeling happy and will very briefly mention some ideas contained in the readings of The Antidote and Positive Education.
Willy does not like the ideas presented by his newly found psychologist and goes home unchanged. After sleeping on it and talking to Linda, Willy decides to give psychiatry a second chance. Throughout the course of the show, Willy continues to visit Olivia in secret, hiding it from his family and friends. He still believes that his reputation is the most important thing to him. He is aware of the negative connotation related to psychiatry, and is worried that his appointments will ruin his reputation. Later on in the show, we see how Willy interacts at work with his new outlook. Willy continues to struggle and this leads him to spiraling deeper into depression. We will see flashbacks pointing towards root causes of his sadness related to his family life. At the end of the episode, Biff decides to stay close to home and work towards finding a job.
